Regular occupancy is the number of people that can be accommodated for the beds/futons available in the cabin. Maximum occupancy is the absolute number of people allowed to stay in a cabin. If the number of occupants is greater than the regular occupancy, the renter is responsible for providing sleeping accommodations for the additional occupants. Regular occupancy for cabins 1-8 is 4 and maximum occupancy is also 4. Regular occupancy for cabins 9-12 is 9 and maximum occupancy is 11. Regular occupancy for cabins A-D is 6 and maximum occupancy is 8.
KEY INFORMATION: If you have a reservation during the peak rental season, you will need to pick up the cabin key at the concession store located at the beach when you arrive. For late arrivals, the cabin will be unlocked and the key will be left on the table. Keys can be dropped off at the concession store or left in the drop box located on Cabin D sign post. The cabin will be unlocked with the key on the table for off season cabin rentals. Keys should be deposited in the drop box on Cabin D sign post for off season rentals.
DAMAGE DEPOSIT REQUIRED: A $100 damage deposit is required in addition to the rental fee. The deposit must be paid separate from the rental fees. The damage deposit is due upon arrival or a check can be mailed to the concession operation at least 7-14 days in advance. Checks should be made payable to Backbone Concessions. Mail checks to:

Cash deposits must be returned in person. Checks will be returned by the concession operator at check-out or returned by mail upon satisfactory inspection of the facility.
Use and Cleaning Rules:
Renters must provide their own bedding, pillows, towels/washcloths and other toiletry items, dishes and some cleaning items such as paper towels, dish soap, etc. A limited number of pots and pans and cooking utensils are available in the cabin.
Renters are responsible for adhering to general use rules for this facility and cleaning the facility prior to vacating. Some cleaning supplies such as mops, brooms, vacuums, cleaning agents will be provided. A complete list of the general rules and cleaning procedures can be found on the Iowa DNR website at www.iowadnr.gov and entering "Cabin Rentals" in the site search box located right above the "Inside DNR" tab.
Renters are responsible for cleaning up after their pets including pet hair in the facility and excrement outside. Please place fitted sheets over futons to reduce the amount of pet hair on furniture. Pets are not allowed to run at large and should be kept on a leash or confined when outside the cabin/yurt. Please do not leave pets unattended in cabins. Pet owners are financially responsible for any damage caused by pets and any extra cleaning resulting from pets.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources is not responsible for items that are lost, stolen, or become damaged. Renters are financially responsible for any damage to state park property or extra cleaning that may be required.
