Alerts and Important Information

Site

FIREWOOD ALERT
Emerald ash borer (EAB) has been confirmed in a number of counties throughout Iowa. As a result, the entire state of Iowa is now under state and federal firewood transport quarantines. It is in direct violation of the federal quarantine to transport firewood from a quarantined area into a non-quarantined area. Park visitors are cautioned not to transport firewood across county lines in Iowa or across state lines since the movement of firewood throughout Iowa or to other states poses the greatest threat to quickly spread EAB even further. Do you part to help prevent the spread of EAB and other woodland pests. Please consider buying firewood locally near the park you are visiting and burn it all during your stay. For more information about EAB and the federal firewood transport quarantine, visit: www.iowadnr.gov/firewood

Pet Policy: Campers are not allowed to leave pets unattended in the campground. Pets are not allowed to run at large. All animals shall be kept on a leash not to exceed 6 feet in length. Pets must be kept quiet.

Water and Shower/Restroom Availability: Park staff generally try to have the water on and shower buildings and dump stations open by mid April. Park staff generally start closing down shower buildings and turning off water and dump stations around mid-October depending upon the weather. A pit latrine and frost free hydrants are available for off-season camping. If you are interested in camping in early April or later in October, there is no guarantee modern facilities will be available.

Cancellations the day before arrival will result in a forfeiture of one night's camping fee plus the cancellation fee. Cancellations on the arrival date will result in a forfeiture of two night's camping plus the cancellation fee.

Change Policy: A $5 change fee applies. The last day to change a reservation is 4 days prior to arrival if paying by credit/debit card and 21 days prior to arrival if paying by check.
