NEW BEACH HOURS: Effective June 19, 2015 the beach will be open from 4 am to 6 pm. Other areas of the park are still open until 10:30 pm.
Beach Lodge to be Removed from Reservation System: The beach lodge is scheduled to be removed from the reservation system. Due to ongoing parking limitations and heavy use of the beach area by beach users, the lodge will not be available for rentals beginning Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day. People wishing to rent the lodge in April, May (up to the Thursday before the Memorial Day holiday weekd), and after Labor Day through October, may contact the park office at 319/624-2200 to reserve the facility.
RAGBRAI EVENT GOING BY LAKE MACBRIDE ON JULY 24, 2015: RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) will stop and overnight at the Iowa River Landing/Coralville on July 24. The event draws 10,000 bicyclists and spectators. The bicycle event will go right by the south arm of the lake. Regular park visitors should be aware that the park could see an increase in visitors due to the event. Traffic getting to the park could also be congested. Campers wishing to camp at Lake Macbride must reserve a campsite or register as a first-come, first-serve camper and pay the appropriate fees. All camping rules and regulations apply including a limit of six people per campsite and one camping unit per campsite or a maximum of two tents per campsite.
